Lots of nice gift packaging at Stonewall Kitchen’s booth. Wasn't allowed to photograph there. What you see here is from their website and elsewhere. An appealing handbag-type package for Mom’s Favorite Cookie Mix. The company credits their “in-house design team” for their packaging design. (Go team!)
(a couple more pictures and more to read after the jump)
I always liked the typeface (ITC Modern?) used here in Barefoot Contessa, another product line from the Stonewall Kitchen design team. To me, this typeface evokes a free-wheeling, 1960's urbane elegance. Reminiscent of something one might have seen in the opening credits of some glamorous Audrey Hepburn movie, although having checked the movie poster for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I can tell you that ITC Modern was not the font used in the branding of that movie. (Not that anyone ever called it “branding” in those days.)
Just goes to show how effective typography can be in tapping into consumer emotions. (The consumer being me and the emotions being mine, in this case.)
